Adani Becomes Asia’s Richest Person, Surpassing Ambani

New Delhi: Gautam Adani, the founder and chairman of Adani Group, has moved ahead of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani to become the wealthiest individual in Asia. The change follows a rise in the market value of Adani Group companies. For years, Ambani held the top spot in Asia. Based on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Adani’s net worth is now estimated at $92.6 billion, compared to Ambani’s $90.8 billion.

Both business leaders remain among the 20 richest people globally. Adani Group stocks saw gains during trading today. Adani Power increased close to 1%, Adani Total Gas rose more than 2%, Adani Green Energy was up 0.44%, and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone climbed 1.6%. Several other group companies also closed higher.

These rankings fluctuate regularly because they depend on share prices and company performance, which shift with global market conditions. Adani Group operates across infrastructure, energy, and logistics sectors. Reliance Industries, led by Ambani, has major businesses in energy, telecommunications, and retail.

The shift in rankings highlights how quickly wealth tied to equity markets can change. Both Adani and Ambani have diversified their businesses heavily in recent years, with major investments in renewable energy and technology-driven sectors that investors are watching closely.
